For many of us in the UK and around the world, 2020 was a year that yielded few bright spots. However, one of the brightest was certainly Captain Sir Tom Moore, who sadly passed away on February 2nd, 2021.

With an initial target of raising £1000, the then 99-year-old Army veteran known affectionately as Captain Tom raised nearly £33M for charity by repeatedly walking laps of his garden between April 6th and his 100th birthday on 30th April.

You can read the hero’s full story on Wikipedia, I just wanted to pay tribute to a man who not only raised money to help the NHS, but he raised the spirit of our nation when we needed it the most by raising his walking game.

Goodbye Captain Tom
